B&Q appear to be marketing an interesting combined thermostat and programmer that seems to have some good reviews. Have any of you seen this before or know anything about it?
In fact it seems there a number of people selling it including John Lewis.
And the company NEST is owned by Google.

Looks very interesting. Not clear to what extend it replaces the programmer. I love the colour change when the thermostat is switching the boiler on.

This seems to be very well priced. I have a Drayton Digistat +3RF that cost me £140. The Drayton is a wireless, programmable thermostat that learns how long your house takes to warm up and adjusts the programmed heating schedule accordingly for weather conditions. But it’s not internet connected, so there’s no smart phone app, and it doesn’t record the heating activity nor does it know when I’m not in the house (I can’t work out from the Nest website how the Nest thermostat can detect presence!). So an extra £40 for these functions seems reasonable.

You Gen did a recent review of several other systems and mentions NEST in passing.

It would be useful to know more about the NEST installation and technical details to see how feasible this is for a DIY upgrade rather than having to get an installer in at extra cost.
