SUMMARY:Community Energy Spring Gathering
DESCRIPTION:The Community Energy Spring Gathering is an open space event hosted by the Devon Community Energy Network\, open to any member of a community energy or climate action group – or those interested in getting involved. The one and a half day residential will take place at the beautiful Dartington Estate and will include walks\, talks\, fantastic food and collaborative discussion themed around community energy. \nThe event is about supporting each other and building a community of practitioners who want to take practical action to reduce emissions and support their community. By sharing our experiences\, learning from each other and building mutual trust and understanding we hope to gain valuable input and perspectives on the issues that matter to us. Due to the recent flourishing of new community groups\, this year there will be specific sessions dedicated to them\, alongside open-space discussions about contemporary topics that are chosen by all present at the beginning of the day. \nIn the past few years\, we have covered topics such as local supply and distribution\, project economics\, rooftop PV lease busting\, fuel poverty and energy advice services and managing your assets effectively. \nWe welcome those who have come for many years and those who are just beginning their journey in community energy. DESCRIPTION:Exeter Community Energy (ECOE) invite all their members and supporters to join them on Wednesday July 15 for the Annual General Meeting online\, via Microsoft Teams\, which should work on your computer via your internet browser. They’ll be reviewing the year’s activities\, and showing how their solar PV installations are supporting their efforts to help the community in Exeter and Devon. You can view the agenda here. \n \nJoin us for our AGM on July 15! \n\nThis year they’ll discuss the success of their two new installations and the plans to issue loans to fund them. They’ll also talk about the ongoing success of Healthy Homes for Wellbeing\, and introducing their new finance director\, Lee Cramer\, to tell you about their finances. \nECOE remain hard at work managing their existing generation sites and will update you on how they’re doing. And they’re also still interested in opportunities to develop potential new ones\, and so will be discussing future strategy. They’ll also update you on how their community fund is helping the places ECOE serves. They’ll inevitably discuss the role the Covid-19 pandemic is playing in all their activities. \nThey’ll be discussing all this and more in detail on July 15.
